Description:
The London Canal Museum occupies a canalside warehouse that was originally used to store ice brought in from Norway for making ice cream. The museum's exhibits show many aspects of the history of canals in London. There is also a working model of a canal lock and a restored tug that lives in the attractive canal basin at the back of the museum. This is a popular destination for school trips and runs a busy programme of events (see their what's on page for more details), including boat trips through the nearby Islington tunnel.
