King’s Boulevard and Central St Martins

Just took advantage of the nice weather to go and have a look at King’s Boulevard, the new street that goes from Pancras Road (which runs between King’s Cross and St Pancras stations) up to Goodsway where a new bridge crosses the Regents Canal to reach the new Central St Martins site.

Despite the building sites each side, the new road looks very smart. Although it has Camden Council street signs, it is apparently a private road.

It’s been suggested that the N1C postcode (not NC1 as reported in the Evening Standard) has had to be created due to the size of the development, but it isn’t actually new - for example Camley Street Natural Park already has one.

The Central St Martins building is still surrounded by construction work, but is no doubt ready for the start of term. There were groups of young arts students making their way up and down King’s Boulevard to enrol on their courses.
